When is Honor Band?
Thursday May 10th thru Saturday May 12th. (Mothers Day Weekend)
Where will my students/child be housed?
JSU Housing will provide accommodations for all students in our on-campus dorms.
What should I bring?
Bed linens or a sleeping bag and pillow, toiletry items, towels, comfortable clothes, a MUSIC STAND (very important), and of course your instrument. Percussionists should bring snare sticks, mallets, and timpani sticks.
Where will Chaperones be housed?
Every attempt will be made to put chaperones in rooms near their students.
Can Directors and Chaperones eat in the Cafeteria?
Yes. Director's meals are included. Meals can be purchased at registration for an additional $30.00 for chaperones. This payment can also be included with the final registration checklist. This includes 4 meals. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Friday, and Breakfast on Saturday. If Chaperones do not purchase meals they are able to eat, but will have to pay at the door.
How will check-in work?
When you arrive there will be people (and signs) showing you where to proceed. All students will need to report to the Performance Center and Directors will need to report to the Band Room to check their students in. Check-in will be for band directors only, to help expedite the process (students should remain in the Performance Center). After you have been checked-in you will be given further instructions/wrist bands/final schedule.
Is there a cost to come watch the Honor Bands perform?
There is NO charge for admission. We would love to have you come and listen.
I am having trouble with my application process!
Please make sure you have filled out all blanks on the form. You will then need to click the submit button and print your application out. If you are trying to register multiple students on the same computer you may have to close the browser between each application. If you are continuing to have errors or issues please contact us. We are happy to assist you.
