Application Procedure

Band membership is chosen exclusively from students nominated by the school band director. Directors are asked to nominate their TOP students who are deserving of distinction and have the desire to excel. Every attempt will be made to accept as many qualified students as possible.

Students:

Complete the Online Application. After completing the form click submit. Then you will be taken to a page with a link to a PDF version of your application. Click this link to download your application then print it out.
Once you print your application give it to your director for his comments and signature.
Check back here for the results on Thursday, April 5th.

Directors:

Please complete the evaluation portion of the application after the student has given it to you.
If you didn't get a recommendation form you can download one here. Please be sure to fill one out for EACH student.
After completing the evaluation portion please mail the application(s) to JSU Bands. All applications should be postmarked by Friday, March 23rd. The applications will be reviewed and results will be posted on Thursday, April 5th. Students will then submit their Honor Band fee ($135) and parental consent form to you. Chaperones will also submit their payment ($30) to you. The Honor Band Registration Checklist, Parental Consent Forms, and payments must be postmarked by Monday, April 16th. When completing the evaluation portion please be very specific and make your recommendations clear. This helps us complete the results accurately.
Checks should be made out to Grey Echelon. We ask that you include everybody (students & chaperones) on one check.
